3 Things Thursday: Go!

1.  Sore Ass
I woke up this morning with sore glutes and shoulders. Where did that come from?  I did my normal Wednesday workout - swim and spin in the morning and easy-paced run in the evening.  However, my run did involve wind, inclines and pushing two not-so-little girls in the stroller.  Rob on dailymile called it the Mommy Trifecta.  But still... me, sore from an easy 3 miles?  And then it occurred to me. I gave Kelsey's "Death by Burpees" workout a try over lunch yesterday. Hmm, I wonder... So I just tried a burpee. Yup, that was it!  Wow, just when I thought I was in pretty good shape! Don't know what a burpee is? Watch a demonstration here.  Now do 120 of them... I guarantee a sore booty.

Not only does he support my
running addiction, hubby also
plays along with my fun costumes!
2.  Fall in Love
I just registered for (one of) my fall half marathons... and at the same time, fell so much harder in love with my husband.  He completely shocked me last night by agreeing to run his first half marathon!  I've had my eye on the Air Force Marathon (Dayton, Ohio) for awhile now.  In passing, I mentioned to him, "If you ever run a half-marathon, I think this is the one for you. It would be really special since you've already put in so many years with the Air Force."   With barely a second of thought, he flatly said, "Sign me up."  I nearly fell off my stool.  What?!  This year?  Really?  Are you joking?

My hubby doesn't really even like running.  He runs a 5k once a month - for fun. He has asked me to create a training plan for the the next 190 days.  I am way more excited than him over this!!  In fact, I could hardly sleep last night thinking about it.  This morning I woke up with my sore ass thinking it was all just a dream.  Now reality, we are registered and ready to go before he changes his mind.  And I have this great urge to kiss my hubby non-stop, I'm so elated!  I get so excited when people I love take on a running challenge.

3.  The Bean!
The Jelly Bean virtual race has over 250 runners signed up already!  This week, some great sponsors have come on board including SparkleSkirtsNuunTough ChikFitsok, Road IDGU EnergyKnuckleLightsBart Yasso, Aquaphor,  iTunes and My Trainer Bob Harper.  So if you haven't signed up yet, you should!  Not only for the chance to win prizes, but also test out your spring speed!  Sign up HERE.  Do it!
