You may see a lot of Core Power these days in the media. They are the official protein drink of the 2014 Winter Olympics. In fact, they sponsor a whole realm of everyday athletes throughout the country.
Core Power is a natural high protein milkshake - in an easy portable bottle... the perfect post-workout recovery drink for active peeps. Made from fresh, lowfat, lactose-free milk and real honey, Core Power has the optimum protein-to-carb ratio and nutrient-rich profile to be the perfect ending of every workout. From endurance sports and bodybuilding to pilates and yoga, Core Power helps you recover faster, build lean muscle and stay at the top of your game.
Currently, there are 5 selections to pick from...
Banana, Chocolate and Vanilla are the FULL PUNCH options. These three offer 26g of protein and 700mg of calcium in each bottle, which also includes 240 calories. They are also gluten-free. Find full label information here: Banana | Chocolate | Vanilla
My personal favorites were the LIGHT versions in Chocolate and Strawberry Banana. These two are slightly less on the numbers: 20g of protein, 500mg calcium and only 150 calories. Still gluten-free, the Light flavors offer a protein punch right after your workout without the extra pile of calories. Find full label information here: Chocolate | Strawberry Banana
If I'm heading the store, my purchase selection would be... Light Strawberry Banana. It was light and refreshing in taste, yet gave me the perfect amount of protein and substance that I was able to make it home after a tough gym workout before chewing my arm off! The easiest place to purchase Core Power is off Amazon, where there is a one-time $5 off coupon on a case of 12, averaging the bottle price to be under $3 each. What would you pay for a healthy delicious milkshake?

I am not a big protein drink "drinker" I usually just have chocolate milk.
ReplyDeleteI always try to keep a protein drink with me for after a long run. Keeps the hunger at bey so I'm not trying to devour a small city after a run.
ReplyDeleteI like protein drinks but you just have to find the right one that tastes good and does good for your body!
ReplyDeleteI've tried lots of protein drinks, I really dont have a favorite, most are like meal replacements or something to hold me over till I can have a meal. I really like the ones from Advocare but they can get a little high on the calories so I mostly just stick with the Weight Watcher meal replacement shakes.
ReplyDeleteNot Fan Of Chalk Texture On Some Drinks
ReplyDeleteI have not been a protein drink-er but...there is always a first time :)
ReplyDeleteI occasionally will have one either post workout or for a snack on the go
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate relationship with them --- I love the convenience factor when I really need to get some nutrition ASAP but am not hungry post-run. I hate that I can never seem to find good ones that aren't full of fake sugars or chemicals!
ReplyDeleteI've just started trying different protein drinks. Still looking for the 'right' one!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I have tried one at some point, probably muscle milk, which I didn't love. So, I'm always up for free samples!
ReplyDeleteI drink Muscle Milk or chocolate milk. It's hard to find a great tasting protein drink. Would love to try this brand out!
ReplyDeleteI currently have Muscle Milk Light coming out of my ears! But I'm hoping to switch soon!
ReplyDeleteI've tried so many different protein shake and finally found one I like at GNC, cookie and crème flavor so good. Great taste.
ReplyDeleteChocolate milk, sometimes muscle milk, but has that vitamin aftertaste :/ More often I will rehydrate w water and have a banana, yogurt/cottage cheese/eggs or a protein bar
ReplyDeleteNew to protein drinks!
ReplyDeleteUsually I have dinner after a workout so I don't eat anything specifically to refuel. Sometimes I'll have a protein bar. I've tried Muscle Milk before and maybe some other products, but only when I get them as free samples.
ReplyDeleteI have tried protein drinks. I love chocolate milk to refuel.
ReplyDeleteI use protein drinks for after LONG runs! :) normally double digits! :)
ReplyDeleteI usually recover with real food not shakes
ReplyDeleteI just started using the AdvoCare Recovery drink after super hard workouts.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried a protein drink. I usually eat cottage cheese with fruit or greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom.
ReplyDeleteYes - I have a protein drink every morning. I work out, and my hubby makes me a protein drink an adds fresh fruits/veg and creatine. Thanks for the great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI've tried protein drinks in the past but haven't really found one that I like enough to stick with them.

ReplyDeleteI currently have some Atkins dark chocolate protein drinks in the fridge. I've been using some of it as coffee creamer, trying to cut back on the sugar and sweetener I'm hooked on!
ReplyDeleteI've tried them before and do like them. My favorite is the chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI've tried lots of different protein drinks but they all taste chalky so I'm excited to try this one. I usually do bars.
ReplyDeleteI will have to try these. I am new to protein drinks.
ReplyDeleteI wish you had included the carb counts in your article, although I know you included the links. As a diabetic, I have a tough time finding pre-packaged protein drinks that I can have due to the high carb counts.
ReplyDeleteThese would be great for on the go!!

ReplyDeleteI've tried all kinds of protein drinks in the past but nothing really in the past 9 months since I've been pregnant. I'm looking for something new to try when I'm back to exercising.
ReplyDeleteI typically go with a big ole glass of chocolate milk after a long run and then an egg dish.

ReplyDeleteI've tried Odwalla Protein drinks and it was pretty good. After a hard workout I try to drink lots of water and eat whatever I'm craving :-)
ReplyDeleteI received two packets of protein shake in a race bag once. One of them was delicious, the other was gross.
ReplyDeleteI have never ever tried protein shakes, mainly because I know nothing about them. But am willing to try!
ReplyDeleteI've tried a few homemade protein shake recipes with some whey protein powder isolate and they taste great. But, they're not alway accessible and take time to make. I've tried protein bars, but have yet to find one I like the taste of. I'd love to find a way to refuel after a workout that I could keep in my bag for really busy days that tastes great!
ReplyDeleteI love banana muscle milk. It is my reward after a long run, but would love to try something different!
